Overview

ReadAloud ("we", "our", "the app") is a text-to-speech application that prioritizes your privacy. The app is designed to work offline and processes all documents locally on your device.

What We Collect

Purchase Information: If you purchase a subscription or lifetime access, payment processing is handled entirely by Google Play and RevenueCat (our subscription management provider). We receive confirmation of your purchase status (active/inactive) but never receive or store your payment details, credit card information, or billing address.

Data Processing

• Document Processing: All document processing (PDF, EPUB, DOCX, HTML, Markdown) occurs entirely on your device. No document content is ever transmitted to external servers.
• Text-to-Speech: Speech synthesis uses your device's built-in TTS engine. On-device voices work completely offline. If you choose to use network-based voices provided by your device manufacturer, those may transmit text according to your device manufacturer's privacy policy.
• OCR (Optical Character Recognition): Document scanning and OCR processing occurs locally on your device using on-device machine learning. No images or text are transmitted to external servers.
• Local Storage: Your documents, reading progress, bookmarks, and settings are stored locally on your device and are never uploaded to any server.

Third-Party Services

RevenueCat

We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions and purchases. RevenueCat receives:

• A random anonymous user identifier
• Your subscription status
• Purchase transaction information from Google Play

Google Play

Data Security

Since we don't collect or store your data on our servers, there is no risk of data breaches from our side. Your documents and settings remain on your device under your control.

Children's Privacy

This app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The app contains no advertising, social features, or data collection that would pose risks to children.

Your Rights

Since we don't collect personal data:

• There is no data to request, correct, or delete
• You can delete all app data by uninstalling the app
• Your documents and settings are stored locally and can be managed through your device's settings

Data Retention

We do not retain any user data on our servers. All app data is stored locally on your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app.

International Users

The app works entirely offline and locally. No data is transferred internationally because no data is collected.
